Investigation of a Compound Parabolic Collector with a Flat Glazing

The compound parabolic concentrator is a promising technology for efficient solar irradiation exploitation at low- and medium-temperature levels. This collector type can be used in series of applications, such as cooling, desalination, industrial process heat applications. work presents novel that satisfying efficiency low cost due to the use flat glazing not an evacuated tube receiver. More specifically, goal present investigation based on energy exergy analysis with glazing, which has concentration ratio 2.81. examined thermally exegetically, aiming calculate different operating inlet temperatures. Moreover, unit studied by developed computational fluid dynamics model SolidWorks Flow Simulation tool. Emphasis given calculation convection losses receiver internal air inside collector. coefficient calculated, distribution thermal losses, convection, radiation presented. Furthermore, temperature levels absorber, cover glass, top loss are found. was 77.4% 10 °C 32.6% 110 °C. It calculated maximum exergetic performance 10.19% operation 90 °C, while this case 41.57%.
